Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through on open tasks and issue resolution.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong multitasking ability.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective time management and stress management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics or transportation management systems.

Prepare, review, and maintain import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. customs regulations and applicable trade agreements.
Negotiate freight rates and arrange transportation.
Schedule pickups and coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
Monitor and track inbound shipments from origin to destination.
Communicate with freight forwarders, transportation providers, customs brokers, and terminals to provide timely updates to internal departments and external partners (e.g., 3PLs).
Serve as the primary point of contact for overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers. Resolve issues proactively to facilitate on-time deliveries.
Monitor and evaluate carrier performance based on service quality and on-time delivery metrics.
Maintain accurate records in internal systems (Momentis), including import bookings and Shipments In Transit (SIT).
Prepare and distribute SIT reports and packing lists to internal teams and external partners.
Generate reports on inbound activities, freight costs, and potential risks, and submit findings to the Shipping Manager.
